The Loft: A wining & dining experience

On the 22nd of August I was invited to The Loft Oyster and Wine Bar, Adelaide's newest and most unique late night hang out hotspot, to experience the tastes of their menu, wines, ales and cocktails, along with some of Adelaide's best foodies, including Betty Samis from Weekend Notes, Paul Aulwood from Rip it up and Food SA and Ling from Foodie Ling....

The evening featured 6 different food options including oysters, scallops, prawns, charcuterie and a cheese platter. Along with 8 various drinks to accompany each dish, including cocktails, ale and wine

Kilpatrick Oyster with Prancing Pony Brewery - Black Ale

The cocktail featured above was one of my favourites, it's called the South Side Cocktail, originating from the South Side Burrows of New York, it's just a simple mix of Gin, lime, mint and sugar

Prawn Roll
Their prawn roll is not what you might expect in looks, but it is so delicious, and their (top secret) dipping sauce makes it just go over the edge, definitily try it out next time you visit the loft!

To accompany the locally sourced delightful chesse platter, we were treated to this delicious, sweet yet flavoursome sherry cobbler, topped with a very expensive maraschino cherry, it was so refreshing...another favourite of mine!

First pour cold drip coffee machine from First Pour SA

To complete this tasting experince we were introduced to a cold drip coffee cocktail.....it tasted like coffee, but was not too bitter.....it was really interesting to see and try

Ducks in a row wineries are one of the Loft's wine suppliers, we tasted a few of their wines, which are all locally produced by skillful wine makers

It was so nice to be able to sit in the calm atmosphere that is the Loft, and experience the flavours of what the Loft has to offer....
Throughout the evening we were hosted by Edward, the Loft's bar manager, he has a wealth of knowledge that he loves to share with people about the craft of cocktail making. He goes by the philosophy that he has chosen to work in the hospitality field and therefore the customer is a guest in his house and he does not like to say no to you, he will custom make you a cocktail if he thinks that will help you! Such a great way for anyone to think about their work!

I look forward the next time I get to visit the Loft, if you decide to go, which I reccomend you do, let me know how you find it! :)
